What are our age restrictions for hiring a car?
The minimum age to hire is 21. Drivers 21 – 24 are restricted to only certain passenger vehicles. Please contact Reservations Here for full details. Drivers 21 – 24 incur a $10 per day age premium. Drivers 21 – 25 are not permitted to drive 12 seater or 8 seater minivans and certain commercial vehicles.
Do I require a Credit Card to hire a car?
Yes you must provide a valid credit card to hire a Rolo vehicle. The credit card must be in the primary hirers name with his/her signature on the back and name printed on the front. The credit card provider must also present his/her drivers license for adequate id. Note: Debit Cards are not accepted.
Who can drive the car and extra drivers?
You cannot drive unless your name is presented on the vehicle rental agreement.
Due to insurance policies we must charge $2.20 per day per additional driver.
If you have not presented the drivers license details at collection of vehicle, you are able to phone through the drivers license details.

Where can I travel in a Rolo Rent A Car?
You are permitted to drive on all gazetted sealed roads within our Rental Terms and Conditions. Unsealed roads and above snow line regions are not permitted. There is no radial or boundary restrictions renting with Rolo.
Do I need a special license to drive Minibuses or Commercial Vehicles?
Our 12 seater minibuses and all commercial vehicles are driveable with a standard car license.
Method of Payment.
Rolo accepts all major credit cards. Visa, Matercard, Amex, Diners, Bankcard, JCB. Travellers Cheques, Eft Pos and cash are accepted*.
*With payment by travellers cheques, Eft Pos or Cash, Rolo reserves the right to pre authorise the excess amount on your credit card to ensure capacity of your credit card.
Pre-payment may be required on large or mulit-vehicle rentals and during high demand periods.
Credit Card details and forward ID may be required on certain rentals.
How many Kilometres per day am I permitted?
Due to Australia's vast coastline and potential travel distance, car rental companies (due to insurance policies) are unable to provide an unlimited kilometre option.
Unless otherwise nominated, your kilometre allowance is an average of 200km per day. I.e. on a 7 day rental your allowance is 1400km total. Generally enough for even the most ambitious traveller. As an example, over this many days (7 days) you may choose to travel 600km on the first day, 600km on the final day and 200km for the 12 days in between.Extra kilometres are charged at 25c/km thereafter. As a guide - Brisbane - Gold Coast = 80km. Brisbane - Sunshine Coast = 100km. Brisbane - Sydney = 990km. Sydney - Coffs Harbour = 490km. Sydney - Melbourne = 1100km

How is additional time charged?
Rentals are based on 24 hour rental periods. After 24 hours, 59 minutes is provided free. After this 59 period you are charged 1/3 the daily rate per hour up to 3 hours at which time a full day is payable. Additional items purchased such as CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) and WHTW (Windscreen, Headlight and Tyre Waiver) are fully charged after the 59 minute period.
